A Heartfelt Homecoming: Witnessing Hope in Tel Aviv
Friends, gather close. I stand before you, at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. A momentous occasion unfolds before our very eyes.
Just moments from now, a plane will touch down, carrying around 120 precious souls – mostly women, children, and the elderly. These are not just passengers; they are survivors. Fleeing the horrors of war in Ukraine, they have found refuge in the land of their ancestors, Israel.
You, my friends, have played a vital role in this incredible story. Through your support, these lives have been saved. You’ve become part of a historic event, fulfilling not just biblical prophecy, but a more immediate need – the rescue of innocent people.
Look closely at the faces that will soon emerge from the plane. You won’t see young men. Fathers, brothers, sons – they’ve bravely chosen to stay and fight for their Ukrainian homeland. But the women, children, and elders, carry the weight of displacement and fear.
One woman, 84 years old, a survivor of Nazi bombings eight decades ago, has endured unimaginable hardship once more. Yet, here she is, safe and reunited with her family, thanks to your generosity and the unwavering spirit of Israel.
Words cannot express the gratitude etched on their faces. This isn’t just about words, it’s about action. By joining hands, we’ve accomplished something remarkable. We’ve saved lives.
This isn’t the end, but a beautiful new beginning. Together, we can do so much more. May God bless you all, and may this act of compassion inspire us to continue offering hope and refuge to those in need.
