Dear friends of Israel, I stand here alongside Ben Gurion, extending a warm welcome to 140 Jewish individuals who have just arrived from Ukraine. With the unwavering support of Keren Hayesod and friends of Israel from all corners of the globe, we have been able to facilitate the safe evacuation of these individuals, who have journeyed for three to four days to reach our borders. The courage and resilience they have displayed in their quest for a new beginning are nothing short of remarkable, and it is thanks to your generous support that we have been able to offer them a lifeline in their time of need.

These individuals have been forced to leave loved ones behind in Ukraine, unable to join them in their quest for a better future. Yet, here in Israel, we stand united in our commitment to welcoming them with open arms and supporting them as they embark on a new chapter in their lives. It is moments like these, where the global community comes together in solidarity and compassion, that reaffirms the strength and resilience of the human spirit.

The collective efforts of friends of Israel and Jewish communities worldwide have made this moment possible, and for that, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your contributions have not only saved lives but have also provided a glimmer of hope to those who have faced unimaginable adversity. As we witness these individuals finding solace and security in their new surroundings, we are reminded of the power of unity and compassion in times of crisis.

To the individuals who have just arrived, I say to you, “Welcome home.” Your journey may have been arduous, but you are now among friends and family who will support you in your transition to a new life in Israel.
