I’ve been grappling with the idea that ‘eye is not seen, ear is not heard, and it has not entered into the heart of man.’ It’s a heavy truth that has been weighing on me lately. Just last month, I received a devastating diagnosis from my doctor – essentially, a death sentence. The words still haunt me: ‘This is what happens when you’re getting ready to die.’ It’s a crushing reality that leaves me feeling helpless.
But then I think about our trip to Israel, where we were at the epicenter of the massacre. It was a surreal experience, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of connection to the story of Esther. You see, Esther is the only book in the Bible that doesn’t mention God’s name directly. But why? Because God is saying that even when we can’t see or feel Him, when we stand up for Israel, He will turn the story upside down. And I believe that with all my heart.
As we left Israel, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was shifting. It was as if we were transitioning from a death sentence to a life declaration. And then it hit me – we’re only 40 days away from an eclipse, just like the one that occurred during the time of Jonah, when he called on the people of Nineveh to repent and gave them 40 days to do so. I wrote down those words, ’40 days,’ and felt a sense of hope rising up.
I know that our God is almighty, and I believe that He can take the darkness away. I want to make a choice to speak up, stand up, and be a blessing to the nation of Israel. Because if we do, I know that God will perform miracles in our lives. It’s time to make a choice and let God be our guide.
