Hello, my name is Nadia Cohen, and I am Ukrainian, originally from Kiev. The current situation in my country is truly heartbreaking. It pains me to see the struggles faced by my family back home, especially my father, a military doctor, who is dedicated to helping his community despite the challenges. They are resilient, united, and unwavering in their fight for our land, our country, and our people.
The sight of children and mothers forced to flee with nothing, uncertain of what lies ahead, is devastating. They leave everything behind to protect their loved ones, a sacrifice no one should have to make. Even my 97-year-old grandmother, a survivor of World War II, is enduring this turmoil, having witnessed similar hardships in the past.
I want to emphasize the strength of my country and my people. Their resilience and courage fill me with immense pride. Currently, I am working alongside the Jewish organization Keren Hayesod, together with the Cohen and Immerman families, to assist in relocating 180 vulnerable refugees to Israel. It brings me joy to provide support to those in need from Ukraine and contribute to their safety.
I urge various communities to join hands and extend their support to the Ukrainian individuals facing dire circumstances. Collaborating with Keren Hayesod and other Jewish agencies can make a significant impact in helping these families find refuge and security. This humanitarian effort is a true testament to the power of unity and compassion.
Thank you for listening and for considering how you can contribute to this worthy cause. Let us come together to offer a beacon of hope for those seeking solace and assistance during these challenging times.
