Uncomfortable Conversations With A Jew by Noa Tishby and Emmanuel Acho

Thank you so much for joining us in New York. This is your East Coast group, and I must say, what a fantastic collaboration this has turned out to be. I’m thrilled it all came together, and I’m so happy you’re here to discuss it. The timing of this book’s release couldn’t be more perfect. The book is very conversational, and we delve into the topic of antisemitism (Jewish Racism). First, I wanted Noa to help me define it. Emanuel came up with the idea during the book’s creation. He wanted to do for the Jewish community what he had done for the Black community. Imagine the power of Black people and Jewish people, two of the most historically oppressed groups, fought together. You all know I’m all about uncomfortable conversations, and I cannot wait to read this. I commend you both for doing this; it’s a gift to the world.

The Power of Unity

Emanuel’s vision for this book was to create a bridge between the Black and Jewish communities. He saw the potential for immense power and solidarity if these two groups, who have faced significant oppression, could come together. This book is not just about understanding antisemitism (Jewish Racism); it’s about fostering empathy and unity. By educating ourselves on what breaks each other’s hearts, we can build stronger, more compassionate communities.

Uncomfortable Conversations

You all know I’m a big advocate for uncomfortable conversations. These discussions are crucial for growth and understanding. This book is a testament to that belief. It’s a call to action for all of us to engage in these conversations, to educate ourselves, and stand together against hate and discrimination. The more we understand each other’s struggles, the more we can support each other and work towards a more just and equitable world.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this book is more than just a conversation about antisemitism (Jewish Racism). It’s a call to action for unity and empathy. It’s a reminder that we are all in this together and that our shared struggles can bring us closer. I am so grateful to Emanuel and Noa for their work on this project, and I cannot wait to see the impact it will have on our communities. Thank you for joining us in this important conversation, and let’s continue to work together towards a more just and equitable world.
