2023: A Year of Unity
2023 in two words “Broken Heart”. It took a war to truly understand the gravity of the situation in Israel. But amidst the crisis, we witnessed incredible unity.
Building Bridges, Delivering Support
Together with the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), we built a program and fundraised for the state of Israel. Keren Hayesod is connecting Jewish communities globally to Israel. This translates to not just financial support, but also mental and moral well-being. For Israelis, this is a deeply personal and critical concern.
From Aliyah to Evacuees: Embracing the Vulnerable
During the war, we saw 3,000 newcomers Aliyah (immigration) to Israel. We ensured they felt comfortable, but most importantly safe! Youth Villages opened their doors to evacuees from across the country. These actions highlight why programs like “Youth Futures” and “Youth at Risk” are more crucial than ever.
Supporting the Elderly: A Matter of Respect
Housing for the elderly, many Holocaust survivors, became a priority. We increased staffing and arranged food deliveries so they wouldn’t feel alone or burdened.
Masah: Building Bridges Through Experience
Masah participants become ambassadors for Israel. They witness the situation firsthand, return to their communities around the world, and share their stories. This strengthens the bridge between global Jewish communities and Israel.
A Mother’s Perspective: Supporting Lone Soldiers
As a mother of soldiers, two of whom are fighting in Gaza, supporting lone soldiers is deeply personal. We provide them a comprehensive package to help them stand on their own in Israel.
Thank You, Moving Forward
On behalf of Keren Hayesod’s leadership worldwide, our dedicated teams in Israel, and our global network, we thank you for your support. We remain committed to serving Israel’s evolving needs in the years to come.
